Mulberry House

Mulberry House is an architectural project situated in Derbyshire and commissioned by a private client. Currently in the planning stage, this project aims to transform a 3-bedroom bungalow into a luxurious 4-bedroom dormer bungalow. With an estimated value of £2.3 million, Mulberry House will offer a refined and opulent living experience.

The proposed design of Mulberry House features a gross internal area (GIA) of 250 square meters. In addition to the main house, the property will include a double garage spanning 45 square meters, an outbuilding comprising a gym and a bar/terrace covering 60 square meters, a Fengshui studio measuring 17 square meters situated above a pond, and an external pool spanning 75 square meters. These carefully planned spaces cater to the client’s desire for a harmonious and peaceful living environment.

The design of Mulberry House draws inspiration from the local context and the history of the previous use of the property. It takes into account planning and environmental constraints while addressing the specific requirements of the client. The principles of Fengshui planning theory and material balance have been applied to achieve equilibrium between materiality, space circulation, orientation, and space planning. The result is a home that harmonizes with both the natural and built environment, providing a tranquil and serene atmosphere for living, working, and relaxation.

In terms of form, massing, and style, Mulberry House replicates the local property style and materiality. Traditional elements and materials are seamlessly integrated with a sharp modern style, incorporating the principles of Fengshui theory parameters. This fusion creates a visually stunning and aesthetically pleasing building.

Mulberry House epitomizes the client’s vision of a harmonious and peaceful living environment. With careful consideration of Fengshui principles, materiality, and space planning, this project creates an exquisite residence that seamlessly blends the traditional and the modern. Mulberry House will serve as a magnificent architectural testament to the rich lifestyle influenced by the local history of Derbyshire.
