The Enhanced 5 Bedroom Family Home project is located in Mapperley, Nottingham and is commissioned by a private client. With a value of £500,000, this design&build project focuses on increasing space, improving thermal performance, reducing energy costs, and adding capital and financial value to the property.
The project involves the conversion of a 3-bedroom detached house into a spacious 5-bedroom family home. The key element of the project is the construction of a 2-storey extension on the side of the existing house. The completed works encompass various aspects of the renovation:
- The house is stripped back to the brick, and all waste is efficiently removed from the site.
- The existing garage is demolished, and the existing foundations are cleared.
- New steelwork beams are installed to support the structure.
- A full-scale 2-storey extension is constructed, with a new concrete slab at the ground floor level and timber joists at the first floor level. A new section of the roof is also added.
- All new stud walls are installed, incorporating soundproof insulation between rooms to enhance privacy and reduce noise transmission.
- The electrical installation is completely replaced and rewired to ensure safety and efficiency.
- The clean water and foul water drainage systems are upgraded, including the replacement of the boiler and the installation of an additional water cylinder.
- New en-suite facilities are created for the master bedroom, along with a refurbished main bathroom.
- A new kitchen is installed, complete with modern appliances.
- The entire house is replastered and painted, and the bathroom, en-suite, and kitchen areas are tiled.
- New floor coverings, including tiling and carpets, are laid throughout the property.
- Landscaping and garden works are carried out to enhance the outdoor space.

• Replacement of clean water and FW drainage installations including replacement of the boiler and installation of an additional water cylinder,
• Installation of new en-suite for the master bedroom and main bathroom,
• Installation of new kitchen including all new appliances,
• Replastering and painting of the entire house, tiling of bathroom, en-suite and kitchen
• Installation of new floor coverings (tiling and carpets),
• Landscaping and garden works.
